Opening "Poland Cultural Days" at Al Owais Cultural Foundation

The activities of "Poland Cultural Days" started on Tuseday evening 20th Novembr 2007 at Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Foundation. The activities include a vast spectrum of Polish culture. The opening ceremony was attended by Abdul Gaffar Hussain and Dr. Mohammad Al Mutawa, members of the board of trustees at Al Owais Cu ltural Foundation, Muhammad Al Mur, chairman of Dubai Cultural Council, the Polish Ambassador and a number of the members of the formal delegation participating in the Cultural Days, a number of people interested in culture, a number of the polish community in UAE and some media people

The activities started with a plastic arts exhibition, the first of the kind in the region, where more than 40 landscape paintings, by the well known Polish painter Franciszek Richard Mazurek, were exhibited to represent an invitation to the viewers to live through his paintings and wander inside them and feel the coldness of the blowing wind and the warm sun shining over extremely beautiful plains and hills. Mazurek's paintings belong to the fascinating territo= ry of Lublin that gives a comprehensive dimension of beauty. Then the Polish community folk band 'Polonez' performed expressional dance sketches representing different territories of Poland

It's worth me= ntioning that the Polish community folk band 'Polonez' included at the beginning 8 children, while now it includes 26 dancers of a ges between 5 and 25. It participated in many festivals held for the Polish community in Hungary, in addition to performances in international celebrat ions in Poland, Germany, Britain, Scotland, France and SwedenThe band performance on the stage of Al Owais included all the folkloric dances of different areas in Poland showing the different styles, traditional costumes and local music, the band supervisor said, during the break time, that the renewed programs of the band are behind its success. It has a wide renewed program through which it presents every new folkloric dance and song, and although new, the band has performed up to now, 250 performances around the world
